Andrew Schlack, Director of Investments at the Calvert Foundation

Andrew Schlack joined Calvert Foundation in 2012 and is the Director of Investments. As Director of Investments, Andrew is responsible for the origination of new loans, new product development and monitoring of credit quality. The current Calvert Foundation portfolio has more than $210 million invested in over 120 organizations.

Prior to Calvert Foundation, Andrew worked for 10 years as a Program and Loan Officer at Greater Minnesota Housing Fund, a CDFI based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  In this capacity, Andrew worked with builders, developers and communities to provide capital in the form of low-cost predevelopment and construction financing, permanent gap loans, capacity building grants, planning and technical assistance services, public policy analysis and applied research. Andrew also led GMHF program development in the areas of green building strategies, sustainable development, supportive housing with services, affordable housing preservation, foreclosure recovery and core neighborhood revitalization.

Andrew holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a second Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota. Andrew is certified by the National Development Council as both an Economic Development Finance Professional and as a Housing Development Finance Professional.
